So, it looks like I’m having sex with Liam now.

Turns out, after the first time, neither of us could resist again. Or again. Or again.

Yeah, I’ve got it that bad - but who can blame me, really?

All those fantasies and somehow, I never expected it to be that good. Or for his equipment to be quite so…generous. All that charm and innuendo had to be making up for something, right? Only…apparently not in this case.

I still get flushes of heat and inappropriate squirmy feelings inside when I think of it - and I think of it a lot. There was no way I was ever going to be able to leave it at that - and thank god, Liam felt exactly the same way.

I don’t exactly know what we’re doing - but hey, we’re adults, we can be casual about it and just have a good time.

Casual sex might not be something I’ve done more than dabble with in the past - and only on exotic vacations or crazy trips abroad, never with someone I actually know - but it suddenly seems like the perfect answer to everything I need.

No complications. No messy relationship or unrealistic expectations. No accountability for anything I want to do, whenever I want to do it. But all the physical satisfaction I could need - more than enough to scratch that itch I’ve been getting from time to time. The itch that got so much stronger when Liam moved in next door.

And more than that, it seems to give us exactly the kind of companionship we need right now too - because, I’m not going to lie, it’s not just the sex that feels so nice between us - it’s the friendship too. Having someone to confide in - without judgment or worrying about how our own personal issues might affect them - gives us a unique kind of closeness that I didn’t even feel with Tyson. Somehow, I can talk to Liam in ways I never could with him, and it’s never fraught - just easy, idle conversation around all the hot, panty-melting activities.

Just good friendship and good sex. Nice and easy.

Something I can value and enjoy all of for now, but that I don’t need to get hung up on.

I’ve never understood the idea of friends with benefits before, but if this is what that is…then god damn, count me in.

He shares some of his concerns for Maya and the cupcake store, and tells me a little about what it was like living in Los Angeles before they moved here - big, impersonal and soulless, apparently, although he admits he was too busy with Maya to explore it fully - though he still avoids talking too much about his past. Having heard some of it, I can understand that. I’m the same, too - I might tell him little bits about my relationship with Tyson and the frustration of living in the same town as your ex, but really, it’s not worth thinking about too much.
